Inverclyde Council’s social work and social care scrutiny panel were given an update on the three local schemes: the ‘Grow our Own’ initiative, support for Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs), and financial rewards for masters (MSc) students who commit to Inverclyde.

Portlethen Men’s Shed will soon call the town’s former social work offices home after taking it off Aberdeenshire Council’s hands for just £100.

Social care workers have been warned they may face employment disruption and not be able to do essential work in areas such as disability, if they fail to register with their regulatory body CORU before the November 30 deadline.

According to the post, although Aquabeat, which operates the promenade event space, said the venue was unavailable due to government construction work, the Buildings Department later clarified that no such work was scheduled for that day. Aquabeat then told the committee there had been a “communication misunderstanding.”

Despite Meta’s own work documenting a causal link between its products and negative mental health effects, the filing alleges, Meta told Congress that it had no ability to quantify whether its products were harmful to teenage girls…. Allegations against Meta and its rivals include tacitly encouraging children below the age of 13 to use their platforms, failing to address child sexual abuse content and seeking to expand the use of social media products by teenagers while they were at school. The plaintiffs also allege that the platforms attempted to pay child-focused organizations to defend the safety of their products in public.
