The UK is sometimes portrayed as the abortion capital of Europe. While this should be celebrated as a mark of the excellent care provided to people in the UK (and to others who come to us from more restrictive jurisdictions), it is framed as a problem and a cause for shame by anti-choice campaigners.
As healthcare professionals, we must make the argument for the place of abortion in society and emphasise the need for the full range of choice and options in pregnancy.
