Editors’ introduction August 2022.

Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts, Vol 16(3), Aug 2022, 387-388; doi:10.1037/aca0000524

This issue has an exciting mix that exemplifies just this perspective. There are studies of art forms new and old, a range of domains and topics, and methods that range from metascience to rigorously controlled experiment. It begins with three book reviews that show the wide range of scholarship in our field. We then move into four articles on cinema, each taking a different perspective showing the wide variety of possibilities to study this art form from a scientific perspective. Next, we turn to two studies of new media. Following these studies of the visual, we turn to music. Our next three articles all look at creative idea generation and judgment, and what influences these processes. Finally, two articles show the range of methods that can be used in our field.
