This training toolkit addresses teenage dating abuse. Specifically, it is designed for trainers to assist specialized instructional support personnel (e.g., school psychologists, social workers, school nurses, guidance counselors) in identifying, assessing, effectively intervening in, and preventing teenage dating abuse.
The toolkit explores characteristics of both healthy and unhealthy dating relationships, provides strategies for assessing whether dating abuse is occurring and how to intervene when required, provides guidance on norms and policies schools may employ, and provides extensive resources to key support staff in addressing dating abuse. The workshop in which the information is shared is highly participatory and draws from the experience and knowledge of participants. A comprehensive Trainer’s Guide and engaging PowerPoint slides and handouts are provided for those leading the session.
