Persons age 12 or older who had disabilities
experienced an annual average of about 923,000
nonfatal violent crimes during a 2-year period
from 2010 to 2011 (table 1). Nonfatal violent crimes
include rape, sexual assault, robbery, aggravated
assault, and simple assault. No statistically significant
difference was found in the average annual number of
nonfatal violent victimizations against persons with
disabilities from 2010 to 2011.
