A report on the social venture ‘Family by Family’ developed by the Australian Centre for Social Innovation as an attempt to address the number of families requiring crisis services in South Australia. The program links ‘seeking families’ – families who want something in their lives to be different – with ‘sharing families’ – families who are thriving despite having been through past difficulties – and runs for 10, 20 or 30 weeks. This first evaluation looks at data from 66 families and shows positive outcomes to date across the areas of goals, outcomes, mechanisms of change, confidence and self-esteem.
