This research brief is the first of a two-part analysis that presents information on children adopted from foster care in the United States and their families using data from the 2007 National Survey of Adoptive Parents (NSAP) and the 2007 National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH). This brief describes the characteristics of children adopted from the U.S. foster care system and presents findings related to the well-being of the children and their families.
