Review of the Young Offenders Act 1997 and the Children (Criminal Proceedings) Act 1987

To implement a commitment of the NSW Government, the NSW Department of Attorney General and Justice is reviewing the Young Offenders Act 1997 and the Children (Criminal Proceedings) Act 1987. The Department is being supported by an Advisory Committee, comprising key stakeholders and experts in juvenile justice. The purpose of the review is to ensure that these pieces of legislation continue to reflect best practice and meet the needs of young people and the community, including victims.
