The operational guidelines for the collection and reporting of Indigenous and racialized identity information through the Uniform Crime Reporting Survey were developed to support Canadian police services in standardizing data practices. These guidelines assist in implementing national data standards and enhancing equity-focused public safety outcomes, while informing the work of policy makers, researchers and community stakeholders.
