Veterans Health Administration Mental Health Program Evaluation: Capstone Report

An evaluation of mental health services provided by the VA for veterans with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, major depression, and substance use disorder. Although capacity for treatment has increased and VA performance in providing care is as good as or better than that reported by other groups, important gaps remain. Problem areas and strategies for improving performance and quality monitoring are identified.
