Pediatrics: Opportunities to improve the health and well-being of our youth.

Families, Systems, & Health, Vol 43(4), Dec 2025, 571-573; doi:10.1037/fsh0001037

Pediatrics encompasses a broad definition of physical, emotional, social, and behavioral health of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. The field of pediatrics, within the context of integrated health care, can comprehensively and effectively impact pediatric health and psychosocial advances in both preventative and treatment efforts. Evidence continues to accrue on how integrated health care in pediatric settings can improve access to complete care and health equity in addition to the improvement of key health outcomes for pediatric patients and families. The goal of this commentary is to provide clarity and emphasis on key priorities for submissions to Families, Systems, & Health that prominently include pediatrics.
