Translational research on sexual and gender diversity.

Translational Issues in Psychological Science, Vol 11(1), Mar 2025, 1-5; doi:10.1037/tps0000461

This is an introduction to the special issue “Translational Research on Sexual and Gender Diversity.” This special issue highlights the intersection of sexual and gender diversity (SGD) with physical and mental health, emphasizing the unique challenges SGD individuals face in health care and broader societal contexts. Studies underscore the factors associated with physical and mental health care environments on disclosure and well-being, and the impact of targeted physical and mental health interventions. Critically, the research published herein examines the role of policy, minority stress, and structural stigma in intensifying mental health disparities among SGD individuals.
