Abstract
Purpose
This mixed‐methods study evaluated a group logotherapy program’s efficacy on Korean older adults with depressive symptoms.
Design and Methods
An intervention group (n = 23) participated in eight sessions of group logotherapy; a control group (n = 21) received the usual care. Participants completed the pretest, posttest, and 4‐week follow‐up questionnaires. Ten participants also had focus group or individual interviews.
Findings
A linear mixed model showed significant differences between groups in terms of changes in purpose in life, depression, self‐esteem, and quality of life over time. These quantitative findings were supported and enriched by qualitative data.
