Number of children in Saskatchewan’s care hits 11-year high, with 86% identified as Indigenous

In 2019, there were 3,412 children in the province’s care, according to the Ministry of Social Services. It’s the largest number the province’s child welfare system has seen since 2008 when there were 3,588 children in care.
