Guidance: Refugees: guidance about DWP services

Updated: Updated the list of documents refugees must take to Jobcentre Plus interviews. Added the letter from the Home Office telling you that your asylum support is coming to an end (sometimes called a ‘cessation letter’). Removed the immigration status document, the NASS35 form and the form given to you if you received asylum support payments under Section 4 support from United Kingdom Visas and Immigration. Also removed the NASS35 section as the form will not be issued from 26 March 2018.

This is an online version of a leaflet the Home Office gives to refugees when they are granted leave to remain. It explains DWP services such as help looking for work and how to claim benefits and pensions. It is for people who are granted:

  • refugee status
  • humanitarian protection status
  • discretionary leave status
  • indefinite leave to remain
  • limited leave to remain
