Monitoring tobacco control among youth in countries of the South-East Asia Region: 2018

Monitoring tobacco control among youth in countries of the South-East Asia Region: 2018
World Health Organization. Regional Office for South-East Asia
Following the publication
of the 2nd edition of the brochure
on “WHO FCTC indicators related to youth
tobacco control” in 2014, this third updated edition
includes additional data from Global Youth Tobacco
Surveys (GYTS) conducted between 2014 and mid-2018
in the member states of WHO South-East Asia Region. The
brochure provides a comparative snapshot of levels and trends
of key indicators related to tobacco control among school going
youth in the age group 13 to 15 years of age.
The policy makers, programme managers, researchers, and
tobacco control advocates will find the rich data presented
in brochure useful to promote evidence-informed policies
and programs for more effective tobacco control. In
addition, these data can help the Member States
plan further epidemiological studies as
per their need.
