This short vignette raises awareness of the prevalence and consequences of underage alcohol use, emphasizes that all adults bear responsibility for preventing underage drinking, and offers tips for those who are of legal age for how to behave in the company of those who are underage. This video was produced through the SAMHSA/CSAP Underage Drinking Prevention Education Initiatives (UADPEI) in an ongoing collaboration with States and Territories to produce videos that support local underage drinking prevention communications efforts. Across the Nation, every State and Territory is unique and so are their approaches to preventing and reducing underage drinking. The video project supports the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Strategic Initiative #1: Prevention of Substance Abuse and Mental Illness, which states, “… prevention of underage drinking [is] a priority for States, Territories, Tribal entities, universities and communities.”

“Let us also be very clear,” Sanders said. “Social Security has never contributed one dime to the federal budget deficit or the national debt. In fact, Social Security currently has a $2.6 trillion surplus that is projected to grow to $4.2 trillion in 2023. It is absurd, therefore, to be discussing Social Security within the context of deficit reduction.” Sanders’ bill would require extraordinary majorities in Congress to approve any reduction in benefits. “Congress should not be able to cut the hard-earned Social Security benefits of current or future eligible recipients without a two-thirds vote by the Senate and the House,” Sanders said.
Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) introduced the same measure in the House. “Social Security is an intergenerational contract that has never been broken. The GOP has pledged to attack its very foundation. This bill would arm us for the coming battle,” Weiner said.

“Contrary to what those in power would like you to believe so that you’ll give up your pension, cut your wages, and settle for the life your great-grandparents had, America is not broke. Not by a long shot. The country is awash in wealth and cash. It’s just that it’s not in your hands. It has been transferred, in the greatest heist in history, from the workers and consumers to the banks and the portfolios of the uber-rich.” — Michael Moore

By Marcus Bleasdale / VII in association with Human Rights Watch and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. Recently the Obama administration continued military aid to four countries known for their use of Child Soldiers, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, Yemen and Southern Sudan by issuing a waiver to the Child Soldiers Prevention Act. In a memorandum to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, President Obama said he had determined that the waiver was in “the national interest.” “One Voice, One Thousand Children” is a two part series by Marcus Bleasdale looking at Child Soldiers in the first part and Young Girls who are conscripted, raped and made the wives of soldiers in the second. The stories are told by two distinct single voices representing many.
