The boos heard during commencement season were therefore not merely acts of disrespect. They were political signals. Cultural signals. Moral signals. A generation was announcing that it refuses to confuse technological capability with social wisdom. The boos heard during commencement season were therefore not merely reactions to individual speakers. They were symbolic refusals of a worldview in which technological acceleration is treated as morally self-justifying and democratically unquestionable.
