The demonstration was hosted by the United Campus Workers of Alabama at Auburn University and lasted from 7 to 9 a.m. In June, the Board dissolved the University Senate and replaced it with the Presidential Academic Advisory Council, which lowered elected faculty representation to one representative per college, with all other members appointed by President Christopher B. Roberts. The Board also mandated two new courses for future students’ core curriculum: An American history class and a civic leadership class.
