Takeaways banned from opening 400m from schools in Essex city

An Essex council has launched a crackdown on childhood obesity by backing plans to ban takeaway outlets near schools. Southend-on-Sea City Council recently approved a health report which highlighted the need to create healthier environments for children and young people. The report also supports planning controls that restrict new hot food takeaway developments within 400m of schools.
