Nigeria needs 60,000 more social workers to protect children – UNICEF

UNICEF Child Protection Specialist Dr Godwin Odo made the call in Abuja at the National Preparatory Meeting for the Second Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children. Dr Odo said many states have too few social workers to respond effectively to child-protection concerns, stressing the need for increased government investment to close the gap.
