National Coalition Against Censorship urges Department of Education to scrap proposed rule change for grants

NCAC
NCAC

The proposed rule changes would allow political appointees to revoke previously allocated grant funding without any prior warning or justification and would expand the review of ongoing funding so as to be functionally limitless. Additionally, funding recipients would be required to comply with all executive orders, even as new ones are signed, old ones are revoked, and existing ones face legal challenges, meaning that grantees would face an ever-shifting landscape of requirements, demands, and pressures even without having their funding revoked.
