The Government has announced 159 new community mental health hubs to open in England. This expansion aligns with BASW’s longstanding calls to shift focus away from reactive crisis intervention and toward accessible, early, local support. Placing non-clinical, walk-in services at the heart of communities, alongside housing and employment assistance, is a vital step toward tackling the root causes of mental distress.
