DfE to fund social work career development schemes, from NQSW to DCS level

The Department for Education (DfE) will fund a national career development offer for children’s social workers, from newly qualified to director level, stating in September 2027. The social work national professional development offer will include six programmes, for newly qualified social workers (NQSWs), lead child protection practitioners, practice supervisors and managers in family help services, service leaders, and aspiring and new directors of children’s services.
