Special issue on the future of education and training in health service psychology.

Training and Education in Professional Psychology, Vol 20(2), May 2026, 89-90; doi:10.1037/tep0000559

Health service psychology is likely experiencing a time of unprecedented change and disruption. Challenges as well as opportunities are evident in all the domains in which health service psychology operates. Education and training in health service psychology cannot ignore these challenges and opportunities. Instead, the field must rise to meet them directly through rethinking the way that psychologists are prepared for the future. The articles in this special edition provide educators and trainers in health service psychology numerous options for reconsidering and strengthening our approach to educating and training future psychologists.
