A Conceptualizing Treatment for Trauma Survivors From a Humanistic–Existential Trauma‐Informed Care Framework

ABSTRACT

This manuscript explores the intersection of trauma-informed care (TIC) and humanistic–existential counseling for war survivors and refugees, emphasizing the need to address the deeper aspects of trauma beyond just symptom management. A framework for understanding humanistic–existential TIC is proposed, integrating existential philosophy, humanistic counseling principles, and emerging neuroscience to support a trauma-informed approach to growth and healing.
