ABSTRACT
This article examines the current landscape of clinical supervision in addiction treatment and proposes a blended supervision framework integrating developmental, competency-based, and trauma-informed approaches. The article explores how this integrated model can enhance clinical competence, ethical practice, and counselor resilience while improving treatment engagement and retention. Practical guidance is provided for operationalizing the framework across residential, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings. By reframing supervision as a core clinical function rather than an administrative task, the proposed model offers a pathway for strengthening the addiction treatment workforce and improving client outcomes.
