Calgary woman says she can’t afford doctor’s fee to apply for disability tax credit

To be approved, Albertans on disability are required to fill out the disability tax credit certificate along with their health-care provider, and send it to the Canada Revenue Agency. Health-care providers may charge a fee to patients for filling out the form. The cost depends on the complexity of the patient’s disability, the work a provider needs to put into completing the application and time spent communicating with the federal agency.
