Comments on the article by N. McNaughton (see record 2025-13434-001), which describes the important contributions of what the commenting author will call the Gray and McNaughton theory to the understanding of anxiety and personality. The author challenges the notion that neuroscience can identify and isolate brain components—be they areas, networks, or systems— that account for anxiety or map to personality in a more direct manner.
