When I was about 10 years old, I had what was one of the most surreal conversations of my life at that point. I was working on a farm during the summer with a schoolmate (who I will refer to as Ernest), who was a few years older than me. I cannot remember how the topic came up, but while we were working, we started talking about space. I just happened to mention the Apollo moon landing, to which Ernest said, “You know that’s all fake, right?” I asked him, “What’s fake?” He replied, “The moon landing, all of that out-of-space stuff, they made that up for TV.”
