Teaching with digital tools: Challenges faced by teachers in supporting students with intellectual developmental disorders

Abstract

The use of information and communication technologies in education offers significant benefits for students with intellectual developmental disorders. Digital tools can enhance their academic success, communication, and self-confidence. However, teachers face numerous challenges when integrating these technologies. Interviews were conducted with special teachers, followed by thematic analysis. The results of our research indicate that these teachers emphasise the need for better staff training, improved access to technology and adaptation to the specific needs of students.
