Remarriage can be seen as a way to reduce the trauma experienced after divorce. However, facing failure in remarriage not only intensifies the emotional and mental state of the divorced individual but also hinders post-traumatic growth. Therefore, this study aims to identify the challenges and issues of remarriage after divorce among Iranian remarried individuals. In this qualitative research, 16 remarried men and women from Ardabil, Iran participated. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling method. Data was collected through semistructured interviews and analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s approach. Two main themes and 19 subthemes were identified from the data. The first theme, intrapersonal challenges, included 10 categories, while the second theme, interpersonal challenges, included nine categories. The findings suggest that post-traumatic growth in divorced individuals after remarriage should be explored through comprehensive interventions that address the identified themes. This research aims to contribute to the development of a specialized premarital counseling program for divorced individuals preparing to remarry. Understanding the needs and challenges of remarriage can help individuals make the necessary cognitive and emotional preparations before entering into a new marriage.
