Nova Scotia’s budget doesn’t raise income assistance rates, shocks anti-poverty advocates

Denise Daley, executive director of Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank in Halifax, said the organization sees between 35 and 40 new people coming to them for help every day. She said they had 12,000 clients said last year and are already on track to surpass that number this year.
