Jimmy Dee Stout outside his brother’s home in Round Rock, Texas. The idea of battling cancer in a prison with high covid-19 rates troubled Stout, whose respiratory system was compromised. “My breathing was horrible,” he said. “If I started to walk, it was like I ran a marathon.”
