Ireland’s Public Health (Alcohol) Act, 2018: A lack of enforcement

Critchlow and Crawford1 should be commended for their analysis on the potential impact of mandated reduced alcohol advertising required by Ireland’s Public Health (Alcohol) Act, 2018. However, it must be acknowledged that this research would also have been strengthened through a pre- and post-assessment of the level of advertising in a sample of locations in Ireland. Their current article is based on recall in a community adult survey, an inexact proxy measure of advertising.
