Mental Health and Legal Systems Inextricably Intertwined – Corrected Proof

Forensic psychiatry focuses on mental health issues that interface with the law. This fascinating field, however, is not an esoteric isolated subspecialty. Quite the contrary! In fact, mental health evaluators and experts are increasingly confronted with complex and often frightening issues that mirror our evolving society. These issues range from an aging population with declining competencies to mass shooters whose violence shocks our conscience.
