The attacks on the World Trade Center (WTC) and the Pentagon on Sept 11, 2001 (9/11), and the anthrax attacks shortly afterwards radically changed the way that New Yorkers—perhaps more so than other Americans—think about threats, risk, and emergency preparedness.
