Ongoing difficulties associated with access to transport are commonly referred to as ‘transport disadvantage’. Transport disadvantage is experienced by specific sub-groups in the population, such as families with young children, people with a disability and Indigenous Australians, and is also common in specific geographical locations such as outer-urban, rural and remote areas.
